What you'll see
Core route — always included
- 1
Profitis Ilias
Viewpoint15 min on site
First, the top. The highest point of the island — a fast stop for the 360° view over the caldera and the Aegean, with the whole island laid out below: everything you will see later is in view from here.
- 2
Pyrgos
Free time45 min on site Groups of 21+: coach-park stop with a walk in
Walk up through the kasteli to the castle ruin. The lanes are steep and the top is the quietest caldera view on the island.
Steep cobbled Kasteli: the climb to the top is on uneven steps.
- 3
Megalochori
Free time30 min on site
A short loop through the wine village: bell towers over the gateways, the merchants' houses, the canava cellars cut into the rock.
- 4
Red Beach
Viewpoint25 min on site
The red cliffs from the official viewpoint on the path above the beach. We do not go down — the cliff is unstable and the stop is a viewpoint.
Red Beach is visited as a viewpoint stop. The path down sits beneath unstable volcanic cliffs subject to rockfall, and access is periodically restricted by the local authorities. We stop at the official viewpoint and follow whatever restriction is in force on the day. Descending to the beach is not part of any tour.
- 5
Akrotiri Lighthouse
Viewpoint25 min on site
The 1892 lighthouse on the south-western tip, open sea on three sides. Timed for the afternoon light where the day allows.
Best in late afternoon.
- 6
Oia
Free time90 min on site Groups of 21+: coach-park stop with a walk in
Oia to finish, with time in the lanes and, when the start time allows it, the sunset from a parapet the driver picks for you.
Sunset crowds: the main lane is shoulder to shoulder from an hour before sunset.
Coach parking is outside the village; groups of 21+ walk in from the coach park.
One optional extra — a stop from this list, or the wine tasting, not both
- Firostefani30 min at the stop + 10 min driving
- Imerovigli40 min at the stop + 10 min driving
- Emporio30 min at the stop + 10 min driving
Details for all 3 stops
Firostefani
The blue dome of Agios Theodoros with the volcano behind it — the caldera photograph most people have seen before they arrive.
30 min on site
Imerovigli
The highest point of the rim, looking straight down at Skaros. Large vehicles park below and walk in.
40 min on site Groups of 21+: coach-park stop with a walk in
Narrow access: large vehicles park below the village and walk in.
Emporio
The walled kasteli with its covered passages and the Goulas tower. Bigger and quieter than Pyrgos.
30 min on site Groups of 21+: coach-park stop with a walk in
Coach parking is at the edge of the village; the walled centre is on foot.
Optional wine tasting at Santo Wines — €30 per person. Pick it in the booking form instead of an extra stop: it adds 50 minutes to the day and is charged per adult with your booking — nothing further is paid at the winery. 18 and over; younger guests are served soft drinks.

About this tour
Seven hours is enough to see Santorini properly, as long as you do not try to see all of it. This tour has six core stops that work in the order they are listed: it starts high at Profitis Ilias for a quick 360° view, drops down to Pyrgos and Megalochori, follows the south coast to the red cliffs and the lighthouse, and ends in Oia.

Those six always run. On top of them you may add one extra, and only one: another stop — Firostefani, Imerovigli or Emporio, all of them on the route we already drive — or the wine tasting at Santo Wines, €30 per person for three wines with a plate of local cheeses, cured meats and breadsticks. Pick one or neither; the booking form turns the other off and shows you exactly how much longer the day becomes.
The itinerary is confirmed by email before the day. On the morning you can reorder it with the driver — beach before villages, lunch early or late. The one fixed rule is that Oia goes last.
The price is for the vehicle and the driver, not for a seat. A couple pays the same as four; eight friends share a nine-seat van. Groups of 21 or more travel by coach and we agree a meeting point with you when we confirm the booking, because coaches cannot reach hotels or enter the village centres.

Important information
One optional extra — a stop or the tasting, not both
The route below always runs. On top of it you may add ONE extra: either one more stop from the short list, or the wine tasting. Choosing one turns the other off. The extra lengthens the day by the time it takes, and the booking form shows exactly how much before you pay.
Red Beach — safetySafety note
Red Beach is visited as a viewpoint stop. The path down sits beneath unstable volcanic cliffs subject to rockfall, and access is periodically restricted by the local authorities. We stop at the official viewpoint and follow whatever restriction is in force on the day. Descending to the beach is not part of any tour.
Optional wine tasting at Santo Wines — €30 per person
Three different wines, served with a plate of local cheeses, cured meats and breadsticks, overlooking the vineyard. About 50 minutes. 18 and over — younger guests are welcome and are served soft drinks. Pick it in the booking form: it adds 50 minutes to the day and is charged per adult with your booking — nothing further is paid at the winery. You may add one extra stop OR the tasting, not both.
Wine tasting — what it includes, 18+
Three different wines, served with a plate of local cheeses, cured meats and breadsticks, overlooking the vineyard. About 50 minutes. 18 and over — younger guests are welcome and are served soft drinks. ID may be requested.
Groups of 21 or more travel by coach
Our 50-seat coaches cannot reach hotel entrances and cannot enter the village centres of Oia, Pyrgos, Emporio or Imerovigli. For groups of 21 or more we agree a meeting point with you when we confirm your booking, and we will tell you in advance which stops involve a short walk from the coach park.
Accessibility
Villages mean steps, steep cobbles and uneven ground. Our tours are not wheelchair accessible. Contact us before booking and we will say honestly what is possible for you.
Service animals
Service animals and assistance dogs are welcome on all our tours at no extra charge. Please tell us when you book so we can seat you comfortably and plan the stops around you.
Itinerary flexibility
The order may change for traffic, weather, cruise-ship crowds or closures. All listed stops are visited unless conditions make one unsafe or impossible, and the reason is explained on the day.

Frequently asked questions
What if it rains?
The tour runs. Rain on Santorini is short and rare in season; the villages, the winery and the viewpoints all work in it, and the order is adjusted so that the exposed stops fall in the dry spells. If the weather makes a stop unsafe — high winds at a cliff edge, for instance — we skip that stop and say why.
Can we change the order of the stops?
Yes, with the driver on the morning. The order on the page is the one that works best for light and crowds, but if you want the beach before the villages, say so at pickup. The only fixed point is a sunset stop, which has to be last.
Is lunch included?
No. The price is for the vehicle and the driver, so you eat where you like. The driver will suggest a taverna that fits the route — Pyrgos, Megalochori or wherever the day has reached — and lunch is built into the seven hours; a sit-down lunch takes about an hour of it.
What if my flight is late and I miss the pickup?
Tours start from your hotel, not the airport, so a late flight only matters if you land on the morning of the tour. If that is your plan, tell us the flight number when you book and we will set the pickup after your realistic arrival, or move you to another day at no charge if the flight is delayed.
Can you take a wheelchair?
Not on this tour as designed. The villages are steps and steep cobbles, the viewpoints are uneven, and our vehicles have no lift. If you or someone in your party uses a wheelchair, contact us before booking: we will say honestly which stops are workable from the vehicle and which are not, and quote a route built around that.
Why only one extra?
Because seven hours holds the six core stops, the driving between them and lunch, with a little to spare — enough for one more thing, not for several. Offering you a list of eleven and letting you fill it would produce a day we then had to shorten on the road. If you want more places, the Flexible tour lets you book the hours your list actually needs.
Can we add a wine tasting?
Yes — pick the wine tasting at Santo Wines in the booking form: €30 per person, three wines with a plate of local cheeses, cured meats and breadsticks, about 50 minutes. It is the alternative to an extra stop, not an addition to one. It is charged with your booking for every guest aged 18 or over, and nothing further is paid at the winery. Under-18s are welcome and are served soft drinks.
